Tim and Jackie Heck

Tim Heck is a Montana native and 22+ year veteran of the U.S. Border Patrol, currently serving as an Assistant Patrol Agent In Charge at the San Clemente (California) Border Patrol Station.  He entered on duty in 1985 at Temecula (California) Border Patrol Station, and served there for 12 years before moving on to the legacy INS Western Regional Office to serve as a Deputy Assistant Regional Director for both Detention and Removal Operations and Border Patrol. Tim is a second generation PA, giving him a unique insight into the history of the Patrol.  Mel Heck, Tim’s dad, began his 36-year Border Patrol career in 1951, in the dusty border town of Rio Grande City, Texas.  Mel’s career led him to Edinburg, Texas; Grand Forks, North Dakota; Havre, Montana; and finally to Marfa, Texas, where he retired as an Assistant Chief Patrol Agent in 1983 . Tim’s folks (Mel and JoAnn) are spending their retirement years in Kerrville, Texas, and are active members in the Fraternal Order of Retired Border Patrol (FORBOR).  Tim and his wife, Jackie, have been happily married for over 24 years and have four wonderful children; April, Erin, Emily, and Tim Jr.

Wayne and Linda Record

Wayne’s career has spanned many years in the graphic design industry.  He has always loved drawing and painting and over the years has kept his hand in fine arts.  The influence of his upbringing and family has led to these initial drawings of a series which he has begun with his long-time friend, Tim Heck, who is an Assistant Patrol Agent In Charge with the Border Patrol in San Clemente California.

Wayne has a keen understanding of military and police life through his father and brother.  His father’s military career started with enlistment in the Navy as a Gunner’s Mate on a transport during WWII, continued as an Air Force career officer and pilot in intelligence and communications with 27 years of service.  After the military, he served in the Sheriff’s department working with forensics and evidence investigation. Wayne’s brother has 13 1/2 years as a police officer, and is now an attorney and Reserve-Army JAG officer.  I hope this series will evoke feelings of honor for those and among those who serve our country.
